Cheltenham Festival Pairs Open Golf Competition

On Friday, March 16th, we welcomed golfers and racing enthusiasts to our Cheltenham Festival Pairs Open Golf Competition! There was a great turnout on a day with a mixture of weather conditions and some impressive scores.

The course was again in excellent condition considering the recent adverse, wet weather conditions.

Competition Result

Cheltenham Festival Winners were Luke Bryan and Adam Comley from Handsworth Golf Club with 49 pts.
In second place were Charlie Roberts and Martin Keogh, both from Handsworth Golf Club, with 47 pts.
In third place were Mathew Westcott and Ben Westcott, both from Oswestry Golf Club with 46 pts.
Loz Cox and Mark Fletcher from Handsworth Golf Club won the best back nine prize with 23 points.
Congratulations to every pair who broke 40 points on a day when there were testing conditions.

After the golf, a good crowd assembled to enjoy food and beverages while they watched the televised coverage of the day’s Cheltenham Horse Racing Festival.

The on-site bookmaker reportedly took a bit of a bashing from a few wise form pundits who managed to pick out several winners.
