The Golf Club

Modern Traditionalist

The club is described as a “modern traditionalist”, recognising that the history, etiquette, and traditions of the great game of golf must be maintained whilst reflecting that the new generation of golfers will expect the club to evolve to accommodate the demands of golfers in the 21st century.
Handsworth is a club that welcomes everyone, and this is clearly demonstrated by its diverse membership base. It is considered one of the best golf courses in the Midlands, with well-organised sections for Ladies, Men, Seniors, and Juniors; Handsworth is more than just a golf club.

SOCIAL SCENE

The year-round social calendar supports a bar and catering facility that is without question one of the best of any club in the Midlands. Fully refurbished for its centenary in 2006, the clubhouse stands proudly overlooking the fishing lake.
The balcony provides the ideal viewing platform to watch the sun go down over the 18th green with members whilst sharing a drink from our extensively stocked bar. We have also recently refurbished the patio area next to the putting green, where you can also sit and enjoy food and beverages.

Catering Service

Catering at Handsworth is in the safe hands of chef, who provide some of the finest cuisines available at any golf club. From bacon roll to a gala banquet, they are unrelenting in their quest for quality and customer satisfaction serving locally sourced fresh produce to exacting standards.

Practice Facilities

Golfers love to spend time working on their games in the hope of improving them. But you need to have enough space to get the most out of practising. We are fortunate to have excellent facilities.
These practice facilities include a six-acre practice area ideal for fine-tuning your long irons, two practice nets overlooking the fishing lake, a short game area with a practice chipping and bunker green, and a large putting green in front of the clubhouse.

Suppose you want to go a step further. In that case, Lee Bashford, our Class AA PGA Professional, provides coaching for all levels, six days a week from Monday to Saturday.
