The 1895 Club offers our members the opportunity to play other courses established in the same year either as a courtesy or with a significantly reduced green fee.
Courtesies
Formed by clubs that opened courses in 1895, the 1895 Club has over 50 members, including local courses Broadway and Cosby. Further afield, Goring & Streatley and Reigate Heath, and on an international scale, courses in Scotland, Ireland, New Zealand, Australia, and Royal Golf Club de Ardenne in Belgium.
Several groups from the club regularly travel to 1895 club member courses and experience excellent golf and hospitality. The office can provide details because required clubs have various access options, so please check with the office before contacting any of the clubs. See a list of 1895 clubs below:

1895 Club Agreement
The arrangements agreed between the clubs are:
- 1. In order to take up the opportunity of a courtesy round/reduced green fee the member must first of all contact the secretary of the club to be visited toarrange a suitable date and time, checking also what, if any green fee is payable.
- 2. Members will only be allowed one courtesy visit to any one participating club once in any year.
- 3. No more than four members from a participating club will be given courtesy on any one day.
- 4. Once the date and time is confirmed by the host club, the member must then obtain a handicap certificate and a letter of introduction from the office, to furnish the host club on arrival.
- 5. All dress rules of the host club must be complied with. If a green fee is requested this must be paid before play. Etiquette and any host club rules regarding format of play must be complied with at all times.
- 6. It is only courtesy that the visitor contact the host club prior to travel to ensure that the arrangements made remain available.
