Saturday, 16th September, saw the inaugural finals day. The finalists of five club competitions were in action, and the matches started going out at noon. The matches were as follows:
Roy Grout Trophy
The Roy Grant Trophy is the scratch knockout and was contested between Karl Smith and Mark Quigley. The Victory Cup winner was Mark Quigley (pictured right).
Victory Cup
To compete in the Victory Cup, the finalists came in the top eight in a qualifying medal. Those eight players then played a knockout, which saw Aaron Salt and Danny Sidhu get through as the finalists. The winner was Aaron Salt (pictured left).
Palmer Cup (Division 1 and 2)
To qualify for the Palmer Cup final, the individuals had to come in the top eight in their division in a Stableford competition. Those eight players then joined the knockout rounds to move to the finals.
Palmer Cup (Division One)
Mark Townsend and Lee Gumbley contested the Palmer Cup (Division One) final. The winner was Lee Gumbley (pictured left).
Palmer Cup (Division Two)
Terry Bansall and Andy Loverock contested the Palmer Cup (Division Two) final. The winner was Andy Loverock (pictured right).
Veterans Cup
The Veterans is a knockout for members over the age of fifty-five. Neil Powell and John Nicholls contested the final, and the winner of the Veterans was Neil Powell (pictured left).
While the finals were played, some members who had played in the morning enjoyed the sun on the balcony and watched the results as they came in. Below are the five final day winners.
