On 13th June, we held the Lady Captain’s Day and what a beautiful summer’s day it was. The course was well presented and looked fantastic. The weather was also amazing, and everything went according to plan.
Stableford (with a twist)
Everyone set off with a written list of instructions with tasks to complete on each hole which helped make everything a little bit more interesting and fun – Players could either earn more points or have points deducted.
Some fun tasks included singing and dancing, and there were equally challenging tasks which included:
11th Hole: Everyone swaps putters on the green.
12th Hole: Land anywhere on the right in the trees, and you can only use your putter to get out.
3rd Hole: Land in a bunker, and you must use your driver to get out.
15th Hole: All tee off, and if anyone lands in a bunker, then you all play out of the bunker.
The Halfway House
The halfway house proved a big hit with Prosecco, Sangria and Pimms on the table and lots of snacks and nibbles.
It was then on to play the back 9. However, some ladies would probably have preferred to stay at the halfway house!
The weather was amazing, and everything went to plan. Lunch was served at 2.30 pm, followed by the prize presentation.
The winning team (pictured below) was the Lady Captain (Jill Fletcher) and past Lady Captains (Tracy Hampton & Sheree Thompson), scoring 77 points.
Alison Shinebaum won the longest drive on the 9th, and Jenny Brown, nearest the pin on the 17th.
There was more fun after lunch with games of ‘pass the parcel’, a raffle, and four games of bingo. All the ladies appeared to have a lovely day and seemed to leave happy. So, thanks so much to everyone who helped to make it an enjoyable day.
