Sunday, 24th September 24th, 2023, marked the latest Mixed Greensomes Competition between Handsworth and Walmley Golf Clubs.
The event, started by the then Captain, Derek Trueman, in 2005, is played alternate years at each course.
Eight couples from each club participated in a closely fought battle on a windy afternoon, with Handsworth coming out narrowly on top, winning by 4.5 to 3.5.
After the match, the teams enjoyed a two-course meal in the clubhouse before Ann Wardell of Walmley GC presented the trophy to Jill Fletcher, Lady Captain of Handsworth Golf Club.
