On Thursday, 7 September 2023, the finalists of two Staffordshire Ladies County Golf trophies battled it out at Handsworth Golf Club on one of the hottest days of the year.
Up for grabs were the Perry Cup (handicap 11.5 to 24.4) and the County Shield (handicap 24.5 to 36.4). Both trophies are county knock-out events which had taken place over the 2023 season. Congratulations go to all four teams on reaching the final.
First out were the finalists for the Perry Cup – Newcastle-under-Lyme and Wolstanton. And after a close-fought battle, the victorious team was Newcastle under Lyme.

Next on the tee were the finalists of the County Shield – Barlaston and Little Aston. Barlaston emerged as the winner of the shield.

After golf, the teams and their supporters/caddies, along with the organiser, Jinny Callaghan and Handsworth’s Lady Captain, Jill Fletcher, were provided food and refreshments in the clubhouse.
